Montreal Protocol on Substances that Deplete the Ozone Layer

I refer to your letter of 29.3.1993 and my reply on 2.4.1993, regarding the distribution of the Hong Kong legislation, enacted to implement the Montreal Protocol & The London Amendment, to other Dependent Territories to serve as a model. Now that the legislative process for our 1993 Amendment Bill has finally completed, I am sending you, as promised, the full set of legislation. They are the Ozone Layer Protection Ordinance 1989 (Cap. 403), the Ozone Layer Protection (Amendment) Ordinance 1991 (No. 66), the Ozone Layer Protection (Amendment) Ordinance 1993, the Ozone Layer Protection (Controlled Refrigerants) Regulation, and the OLP (Products Containing Scheduled Substances) (Import Banning) Regulation.

Please be advised that we are now ready to have the UK's ratification of the London Amendment extended to Hong Kong. We have now obtained China's agreement on the extension. I should therefore be grateful if you can inform the Ozone Secretariat of UNEP as soon as possible.--
