Now that I am back in Hong Kong, I am writing to thank you for seeing me on the afternoon of 7 April 1993. I was most pleased to have the chance to meet and discuss with you the few things that were on my mind on the subject of Human Rights.
I handed you a copy of a draft Chapter that we had done on the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW). The Chapter is intended for incorporation in a Green Paper on "Equal Opportunities for Men and Women" which the Hong Government
Kong is preparing for publication this summer. You very kindly undertook to have a look at the Chapter and let us have your comments. Since we are already past the deadline for submission of contributions to the editor, would it be possible to let us have your comments by the
end of next week?
I wonder whether you have yet had a chance to find out whether our nomination for Ava Chiu for the UN Fellowship in Geneva beginning on 1 July has been It would be most helpful for us, as well as Ava herself, to know as soon as possible so that the necessary arrangements could be put in hand.
successful.
I must also thank you especially for taking the trouble to arrange for me to visit the Sex Equality Bureau of the Department of Employment. It was a pity that I could not make it in the end. May be I'll have a chance on my next visit to London!
Yours sincerely.
