If the whether any further points should be covered. briefing is required we shall provide it by 2 July so that the party can take it to Singapore en route to Tokyo. A certain amount of updating will be inevitable, in particular to take account of the seventh round of Hong Kong talks on 5 and 6 July. We can provide the necessary updating by telegram. If the Secretary of State wishes me to join the party I could also bring revised briefing with me when I join you just before your departure from Tokyo for Peking.
