There are three places at which vehicles can cross

border,

To,

Sha Tau

Kok

and

namely, Man Kam

As they are all situated in the Frontier

Lok Ma Chau.

Closed Area, vehicles crossing the border need Closed Road

Permits. For goods vehicles and private cars, each permit

allows unlimited daily crossings. For coaches, each permit

allows

Nowadays, one round-trip crossing each day.

Closed Road Permits are issued mainly for the Lok Ma Chau

crossing.

Opened on

1 July 1980, the Man Kam To crossing

provides the most direct link with Shenzhen City centre.

It handles about 10,000 vehicles per day. Of these, 96%

are goods vehicles and container trucks, and the remainder

theoretical and private cars. Although the
