On behalf of our Association and its Chinese Conservative Group I am writing to invite you to attend, as the guest of honour, a Reception to celebrate the Chinese New Year to be held at the Hoo Wah Restaurant, 37-38 Gerrard Street, London W.1. from 6.30 pm to 8.30 pm on either January 26th, 27th, 28th or February 1st or 2nd.
In fact the Chinese New Year falls on 23rd January.
Members of the Chinese Community would be especially interested to meet and hear you particularly in the light of your special responsibilities for Hong Kong and China.
If you were able to accept our invitation for one of these dates most convenient to yourself and to give some words of encouragement at the reception we would be delighted and could assure you of a very warm welcome and if Mrs Goodlad were able to accompany you that would give us added pleasure.
