The text files have no direct linkage to the ZyIndex software and we expect that no distortion will occur during the transfer of them.
We shall
soon find out whether the problem described above will actually occur. In March we will have a new PC to be destinated for uses related to the Compendium. We will need to transfer the ZyIndex software (including the index list) from the existing hard disk to hard disk of the new PC. We shall let you know whether index list has been distorted during the transfer. You wish to have that information before you decide whether to go ahead with the installation of the system.

Turning to the specific questions you raised in paragraph 2 of the fax, ZyIndex was designed by ZyLab in Illinois, U.S.A. The name and address of ZyLab appear on the attached pamphlet. We do not know whether technical support and training are available in United Kingdom. will have to contact ZyLab to enquire. The system requirements to get ZyIndex up and running are described in the pamphlet. Data transfer requires the use of a Tallgrass FS 300I tape drive and a Tallgrass software version 1.44.
