Protocol to the 1979 Convention on Long-Range Transboundary Air Poll on Concerning the Control of Emissions of Volatile Organic Compounds or their Transboundary Fluxes which controls emissions of volatile organic compounds, carbon-containing gaseous pollutants found in the atmosphere at ground level. The UK signed the Convention in November 1991 but has yet to ratify. The Protocol is essentially a European regional agreement and will not be ratified on behalf of Dependent Territories.

Protocol to the 1979 Convention on Long-Range Transboundary Air Pollution concerning the Control of Emissions of Nitrogen Oxides or their Transboundary Fluxes which controls emissions of nitrogen oxides, one of the main gases that contribute to the formation of acid rain. The UK's ratifcation included Jersey, Guernsey, the Isle of Man and the Sovereign Base Areas of Akrotiri and Dhekelia in the Island of Cyprus. The Protocol is essentially a European regional agreement and has not been ratified on behalf of other Dependent Territories.

International Convention on Civil Liability for Oil Pollution Damage (1969) which aims to ensure that adequate compensation is available to persons who suffer damage caused by pollution resulting from the escape or discharge of oil from ships and standardizes international rules and procedures for determining questions of liability and adequate compensation in such areas. The Convention entered into force for the UK on 19 June 1975 and was extended at later dates to Jersey, Guernsey, the Isle of Man, Bermuda, the British Indian Ocean Territory, the British Virgin Islands, the Cayman Islands, the Falkland Islands, Gibraltar, Hong Kong, Montserrat, Pitcairn, St. Helena and Dependencies, the Turks and Caicos Islands and the Sovereign Base Areas of Akrotiri and Dhekelia on the Island of Cyprus.

International Convention on the Establishment of an International Fund for Compensation for Oil Pollution Damage, (as amended) which supplements the International Convention on Civil Liability for Oil Pollution Damage (1969) by establishing an International Oil Pollution Compensation Fund to ensure that adequate compensation is available to any person suffering pollution damage who is unable to obtain full and adequate compensation under the 1969 Liability Convention. The Convention entered into force for the UK on 16 October 1978. extended to the Bailiwick of Jersey, the Bailiwick of Guernsey, Bermuda, the British Indian Ocean Territory, the British Virgin Islands, the Cayman Islands, the Falkland Islands, Gibraltar, the Turks and Caicos Islands and the Sovereign Base Areas of Akrotiri and Dhekelia on the Island of Cyprus on 16 October 1978 and to Anguilla on 1 September 1984.

Convention on the Prevention of Marine Pollution by Dumping of Wastes and Other Matter (as amended) which requires Parties to control or prohibit the deliberate disposal of certain wastes other than that incidental to the normal operation of ships and aircraft etc. The Convention entered into force for the UK on 17 December 1975. It was extended from that date to the Bailiwick of Guernsey, the Isle of Man, Bermuda, the British Indian Ocean Territory, the British Virgin Islands, the Cayman Islands, the Falkland Islands, St Helena and Dependencies, the Turks and Caicos Islands, the Sovereign Base Areas of Akrotiri and Dhekelia on the Island of Cyprus, and from 5 March 1976 to the Bailiwick of Jersey.
