OSMAN stands charged with 16 offences of fraud and corruption. On 17 December 1992, he appeared at Western Magistracy, following his extradition from the United Kingdom. He has since remained in custody, having failed to secure bail. His application for a judicial review of the magistrate's decision to deny him bail was refused. George TAN Soon-gin stands charged with 17 offences of fraud and corruption. Both will next appear in court on 7 July 1993 for further remand and eventually they will be jointly arraigned.

The number of arrests made
made in connection with this prolonged ICAC initiative now stands at 228. So far 62 persons have been prosecuted to conviction, with another 24 awaiting trial. Fifty-two of those convicted have been awarded custodial sentences. A further 58 suspects remain on ICAC bail.
