BBC WORLD SERVICE TELEVISION (WSTV) AND STAR TV
1. The Minister was grateful for your submission of
12 October, which reached him in Bangkok during his recent visit there. Mr Goodlad has taken note and would be grateful to be kept closely in touch with further developments affecting WSTV and the News Corporation.
2. I am also returning earlier papers with this minute. Pending his recent visit to Hong Kong, during which he intended to discuss this issue, Mr Goodlad had not forwarded Sir J Ramsden's earlier sitrep of 27 September to the Secretary of State. In the event, this was largely overtaken by the more recent developments.
