For the Alastair Goodlad interview, Jonathan will be asking him about his thoughts with regard to recent developments in the Hong Kong saga.
Please would you remind Mr.-Goodlad that the interview as well AR the meeting that we will be filming on Thursday are not for publication before mid-1997, as per our previous agreement with Douglas Hurd and Francis Cornish and Mr. Goodlad himself.
The question areas will be as follows:
The feelings about Chinese behaviour in recent weeks.
What the FO's response is to the recent House of Lords & Select Committee meetings?
What importance do you attach to all party support in the Commons.
The importance of Chris Patten being a politician as governor at the present time, as opposed to the more traditional governor roles of the past.
