SECRETARY OF STATE'S INTERVIEW WITH JONATHAN DIMBLEBY, 28 APRIL
1. The Secretary of State has agreed to give an interview to Jonathan Dimbleby at 10.30 am on Wednesday 28 April for the film he is making on Hong Kong for broadcast after 1997.

I attach bull points prepared by HKD. At this stage in the filming Dimbleby may wish to concentrate on where we stand in talks with the Chinese on constitutional developments.
He may
go over developments during the past year leading up to the talks and will wish to hear the Secretary of State's views on the likely success of the talks and where we go from here.
3.
We are pursuing separately with Dimbleby the question of filming one of the Secretary of State's meetings on Hong Kong which is likely to cover less sensitive issues than at recent meetings attended by the Governor.
