BRITISH SATELLITE NEWS INTERVIEW WITH MR GOODLAD

1. The Minister has agreed to give an interview to British Satellite News (BSN) on Wednesday 24 March. The interview will take place in the Ambassador's Waiting Room at 3.00 pm, conducted by John Bayliss, and will last around 15 minutes.
2.
As I mentioned in my submission of 19 March the interview with the Minister will be part of a 20 minute feature on Hong Kong. This will not be a news item as such. BSN wish to concentrate on the future development of Hong Kong within the context of the present differences between the UK and China, including prospects for economic growth and trade.
3. BSN has interviewed Legislative Councillors Martin Lee, David Li, Emily Lau and Tam Yiu-Chung. They have spoken also to Richard Stirland, Managing Director of Cathay Pacific, Robert Riley, Managing Director of the Mandarin Group, Philip Bowring, a journalist who contributes to the International Herald Tribune, and two local families.
