UK/HK Scholarships Scheme to Receive More Funds

The Government announced today (Sunday) that, following

A Government spokesman said the annual commitment of

£250,000

is becoming inadequate as the scheme has to support

both new awardees as well as students who have received awards

in previous years.

"As the cumulative expenditure on students currently

studying under the scheme is expected to exhaust the annual

commitment after 1992-93, the annual commitment of £250,000

would

be only

sufficient

to

support renewal

of

current
