HONG KONG/UK SCHOLARSHIPS: JOINT FUNDING SCHEME
I am sorry we have not yet replied in full to your letter of 23 December to Peter Ricketts on the way forward with the Joint Funding Scheme. We are still in consultation with Cultural Relations Department about the future of HMG funding for UK/Hong Kong scholarships.
Meanwhile, we notice from the latest batch of 'Lines to Take for the Governor' that the review of the scheme has been completed. It would be very helpful to know the outcome of ExCo's consideration of the Joint Funding Scheme at their 16 February meeting (we saw the papers prepared for this meeting but have not as yet seen the minutes).
