Our telephone conversation this afternoon refers.
2. In line with Hong Kong's expenditure forecast we allocated £900,000 for fee support in 1995/96. However, given the dismal underspend last year, we asked the Student Financial Assistance Agency for an early expenditure forecast. In his letter of 11 May, Mr Wong predicted an FCO contribution of £613,500. We queried this and in his letter of 6 July, Mr Wong reduced the forecast spend to £357,000. Copies of the relevant papers are attached.
