The Joint Funding Scheme
The UK/Hong Kong Joint Funding Scheme is a fee support programme jointly funded by HMG and the Hong Kong Government. Currently, each makes an annual contribution of £2.2 million.
HMG's contribution comes from FCOSAS resources.
UK/Hong Kong Scholarships
The UK/Hong Kong Scholarships programme is jointly funded by
HMG and The Royal Hong Kong Jockey Club (on behalf of the Hong
Kong Government). The UK's contribution, which is matched by
the Royal Hong Kong Jockey Club, consists of £40,000 from
FCOSAS resources plus the balance from two-thirds annual and accrued interest from the Sir S K Tang Bequest. The 1992/3
breakdown of HMG's contribution was:

This scheme is due for joint review in 1994/5.
4. The Hong Kong Government have initiated the idea of
phasing out the UK/Hong Kong Joint Funding Scheme by 1996/7 whilst ensuring that Hong Kong students studying in the UK in the 1993/4 academic year continue to be eligible to apply for the awards until the completion of their (normally three years) first degree courses. In consultation with CRD we have
agreed a phase-out programme which takes account not only of the wishes of Hong Kong but also of the tight budgetary
