You suggested in para 2 of TUR that we might defer our response to the Chinese until the BBC's transmitter in Thailand is in the bag, at least until the Government-to-Government agreement is signed. We understand (our telno 808) that this is likely to be a matter of weeks away.
2.
Subject to the views of copy addressees, we think that our response can wait that long. Seen from here, there is no advantage in our getting back quickly to the Chinese on this.
