the key packages for which the Guangzhou Metro Corporation (GMC) has invited bids. UK companies have signed letters of intent for two packages and US companies for some others.

To our knowledge, the only packages for which nothing has been signed and which UK companies are still pursuing are the signalling (Westinghouse) and tunnelling (Balfour Beatty). There will be other potential contracts associated with the Metro at a later stage (eg commercial development of the concourse), but these are Likely to be with the Municipality rather than GMC.
