As agreed, I attach a list of four UK project successes in 1992 in Hong Kong (worth a total of some £2.1 billion to the UK) and one in South China: Shajiao 'C' Power Station, with an overall value of £800 million and a UK content of £240 million.
3 I also attach a note from XAAA2d which points out that Cathay Pacific have bought equipment worth over £1 billion since 1972 form UK manufacturers. It also points out that Hong Kong's MTR has been a major success for the UK railway sector. As far as China is concerned, the note indicates that Rolls Royce have delivered £260m worth of aero-engines to China since 1987. You will note that para (b) of Mr Abbott's minute is largely covered by the entries on our list.
