"HONG KONG WORKS" CONFERENCE
Hds FED
SEAD
With his letter of 22 October, Dickie Stagg sent a first draft of the Prime Minister's speech to this week's Hong Kong Conference.
Planners
I enclose a lightly revised text, which builds in amendments suggested by Xthe Prime Minister. I would be grateful if you could check this for accuracy (in
this for accuracy in eus particular on the validity of the passage on the talks with China).
Sr. Aduino
The Prime Minister would like to beef up the references to the new priority we are giving to Asia and the Pacific. I have imported a few points from his Tokyo speech. But this section is still a little thin. Is there anything more we could say to demonstrate that this priority is action as well as words?
Could I have your comments by 1700 on Tuesday 9 November.
I am copying this letter to Peter Smith (Department of Trade and
Industry).
