Thank you for giving us advance warning of the Governor's Letter to Lu Ping about changes in the reserves. I have now seen the Governor's Letter to Lu Ping, dated 1 March.

I wonder if a line may have been left out of the table of reserve balances set out in the letter. There is no indication to which financial year each of the columns of figures refers. Although this information can be deduced from the text you may nonetheless consider that there is some scope for confusion on the Chinese side. To avoid any possible misunderstanding, you may feel it is worth amending the letter before it is passed to the Chinese.
