meetings high level personalities from member states, invited in a personal capacity, to which were also added various Chairmen of OECD Committees, the Secretary-General and Several heads of OECD

Directorates.

These informal meetings have permitted a free, profound and off the record discussion.

The first of these meetings took place ad Dourdan where North/South commercial relations were discussed.

The second took place at Rolleboise on the perspectives of the international economy. Among the OECD personalities participating were Claude Cheysson, at that time the EC Commissioner responsible for relations with developing countries; Mr Saburo Okita, former Minister of Foreign Affairs of Japan; and Mr Bjorn Olsen, Under Secretary of State for Development in Denmark. [These names evoke the early 1980s). On their side, the developing countries were represented by several Ministers and senior officials.
