Western Harbour Crossing at an estimated cost of $6.5 billion to link West Kowloon and Hong Kong Island West. Completion expected by mid-1997. Franchise award planned for 1993.
The Tsing-Ma Bridge will have one of the longest main spans in the world carrying both road and rail transport. Construction work commenced in mid 1992. Completion is planned for mid-1997.
The Kap Shui Mun Bridge will be Hong Kong's first cable stayed road and rail bridge of 820 metre long, linking the island of Ma Wan and Lantau. Construction work will commence in early 1993. Completion also planned for mid-1997.
Land Development Projects

Central Reclamation Phase I comprises 20 ha of reclaimed land for the Airport Railway HK Terminus and expansion of the Central Business District. Tender invited in June 92 and returned in September 92.
West Kowloon reclamation at a cost of $12.6 billion in MOD commenced in August 1990 for completion in phases. Majority of the reclamation will be completed by 1994/95 and about 330 ha of land will be provided.
First phase of an airport support town, with supporting infrastructure, at Tung Chung and Tai Ho at cost of $3 billion. Works commenced in April 1992 for completion in 1997. Will provide about 80 ha of serviced land to accommodate 20,000 people and the related infrastructure by the airport opening date.
Utilities
The permanent water supply system to serve the new airport and the North Lantau Development with an ultimate capacity of 300,000 cu.m. per day is being implemented in stages with the first stage to be substantially completed in 1996. The remaining stage is programmed for some time in the 2000's.
