During the first eleven months of 1992, three Japanese banks and two others foreign banks were granted banking licences to operate in HK; over 20 other overseas financial institutions from 11 countries established themselves here as restricted licence banks, deposit-taking companies or representative offices.
In 1991, 402 overseas companies registered in HK. New companies up 7.3% compared with last year. Net inflow at 193 for 1991.
