Well done! When you yel

1.
I have pencilled in an hour long meeting for Sir John Coles, Mr Hum and Mr Ricketts with the Governor in Sir John Coles office at 1500 on 5 April. It is not yet clear whether Mr Hum will be able to attend, as he may be travelling with the Secretary of State.
2. I have informed HKGO that the Secretary of State will be overseas during the Governor's visit but that we are asking the Prime Minister if he will be available to see Mr Patten. Mr Goodlad's travel plans are still uncertain but there is a chance that he may be back in the Office on the morning of 8 February. PS/Mr Goodlad suggested that Mr Patten and Mr Goodlad might discuss the possibility of a meeting during one of their frequent telephone conversations.
3.
I attach a copy of HKGO's draft programme for the visit. When I spoke to Mr Cheuk yesterday he mentioned the possibility of the Governor travelling over a little earlier than 2 April, to allow for a meeting with the Secretary of State. I told him that we were still waiting to hear back from Mr Goodlad, the Secretary of State and the Prime Minister and that I would let him know what their thoughts were when we did.
