HONG KONG: GOVERNOR'S VISIT: ARRANGEMENTS FOR 10 November

It may be worth recording that the Private Secretary has now set aside the period 10.30 to 11.30 on 10 November for the Secretary of State's meeting with the Governor before OPD (K). Mr Goodlad has been invited to attend.
2.
The Private Secretary and I discussed whether officials might be required to join part of this meeting (including Sir R McLaren who will be attending OPD (K) and will be available for any meeting that morning). We agreed that the Private Secretary would let us know nearer the time if the Secretary of State wished to start with a wider meeting with officials, before moving into Ministers only session. This is intended as advance notice of the possibility, for diary purposes.
