HONG KONG LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL DELEGATION
Thank you for your letter of 24 May about this LegCo
delegation's visit to London on 8-10 June.
I should have been happy to see them, but I am afraid my other commitments on those days mean that a meeting will not be possible.
I appreciate the importance to Hong Kong of the issues which the
delegation wants to talk about and I shall be interested to read their position paper. I understand that they will be able to discuss their concerns with the two Ministers most directly
responsible, Mr Goodlad in the FCO and Mr Wardle in the Home office. I am sure they will listen carefully to the points the delegation put to them and will take due account of their views.
