Thank you for your letter dated 22nd February, 1993 extending
to me your invitation to attend as an observer the 12th Conference
of Commonwealth Speakers and Presiding Officers to be held in Papua
New Guinea in January 1994. I am happy to accept your invitation
and look forward to renewing and strengthening my links with the
Conference.
For the record I should mention that the Legislative Council
in Hong Kong for the first time in its history, on the 19th of this
month, elected its own President, and I had the honour to be its
choice.
