Our telno. 1423: Status of LegCo Panels
At its meeting on 29 September, the LegCo House Committee agreed to move the resolution to amend the Standing Order at the LegCo sitting on 13 October to formalize LegCo Panels and their sub-committees. The resolution will be set out in the Order Paper which will be distributed to all LegCo Members about one week prior to the sitting. The contents of the resolution could therefore become public knowledge a few days before 13 October.
2. As for the consequential amendments to the Legislative Council (Powers and Privileges) Ordinance (para. 2 of our telno. 1402), due to the need to resolve one or two outstanding issues the introduction of the amendment bill is now put back to November
