*10: According to the provisions of Annex I of the Basic Law, the first
Chief Executive of the HKSAR will be selected by a 400 member
Selection Committee. The Association proposes that the 400 members
of the Selection Committee by which the first Chief Executive will be
selected may be returned in a way largely similar to the method for
the election of members of the 1995 Election Committee. As for the
second Chief Executive in 2002, the Association proposes that he
should be elected by universal suffrage of "one man and vote".

after 1.7.1997 following the establishment of the mechanism for
revising the Basic Law by the SAR Government. "The Decision on the
Method for the formation of the First Government and the First
Legislative Council of the HKSAR" should be revised and the number of directly elected seats from geographical constituencies of the First Legislative Council should be increased to no less than half of the
total membership, i.e. 30 seats (Please refer to Table 4).
