At the meeting on 11 May, Members asked for -
the re-issue of previous Executive Council memoranda on the Election Committee and the Governor's proposals regarding functional constituencies;
the relevant White Papers on functional constituencies; and
a summary of the current and proposed electorate of the 21 existing functional constituencies.

At Annexes for Members' information are -
memorandum XCX(93)10 which sets out four possible alternatives for the composition of the first Election Committee, and minutes of Members' discussion (Annexes A and B);
relevant extract of XCX(92)68 which sets out the Governor's proposals regarding the 21 existing functional constituencies as well as the 9 new ones, (Annexes C and D);
relevant extract of the 1984 White Paper ("The Further Development of Representative Government in Hong Kong") and the 1988 White Paper ("The Development of Representative Government: The Way Forward") on the functional constituency system (Annexes E and F); and
a summary of the current electorate of the 21 existing functional constituencies, plus the changes in the electorate arising from the Governor's proposal to widen the franchise of these functional constituencies (Annex G).
