In regulation 6(2)(a) repeal "of the Legislative Council (Electoral Provisions) (Procedure) Regulations (Cap. 381 sub. leg.) or the Electoral Provisions (Procedure) Regulations (Cap. 367 sub. leg.)" and substitute "made under section 7 of the Boundary and Election Commission Ordinance ( of 1993)".
Explanatory Memorandum
The object of this Bill is to establish the Boundary and Election Commission ("Commission”) as a body corporate. Its main functions will be to make proposals as to the division of the electoral areas of Hong Kong into constituencies in respect of any election held under the Electoral Provisions Ordinance (Cap. 367) and to supervise and generally manage the conduct of an election held under that Ordinance or the Legislative Council (Electoral Provisions) Ordinance (Cap. 381).

In the Bill-
(a) clause 2 contains the definitions necessary for the interpretation
of the Ordinance;
(b) clause 3 establishes the Commission as a body corporate and
provides for its membership;
(c) clause 4 describes the functions of the Commission which include reviewing the boundaries of constituencies and making electoral arrangements;
(d) clause 5 confers the general powers necessary for the Commission
to perform its functions and duties;
