本條例草案
旨在
Provide for the establishment of the Boundary and Election Commission as a body corporate, for the purpose of making recommendations regarding the delineation of geographical constituencies and demarcation of their boundaries and to be responsible for the conduct and supervision of elections, and matters incidental thereto; and to make consequential and other amendments.
Enacted by the Governor of Hong Kong, with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council thereof.
訂定條文,以設立一個名為選區分界及選舉事務委員會的法團,以便對地方選區及選 區分界的劃定作出建議,並負責進行和監督選舉,及訂定附帶事宜;以及作出相 應及其他修訂。
由香港總督參照立法局意見並得該局同意而制定。

1.
Short title and commencement
(1) This Ordinance may be cited as the Boundary and Election Commission Ordinance.
(2) This Ordinance shall come into operation on a day to be appointed by the Governor by notice in the Gazette and different days may be appointed for different provisions.

Interpretation
In this Ordinance, unless the context otherwise requires―
“Chairman”(主席) means the Chairman appointed under section 3(6) or the
pn appointed to act for him under section 1(5) of Schedule 1;

(1) 本條例可引稱為《選區分界及選舉事務委員會條例》。
(2) 本條例自總督以憲報公告指定的日期起實施,而總督可為不同的條文,指定 不同的實施日期。
2. 釋義
在本條例中,除文意另有所指外一
“主席”(Chairman)指根據第3(6)條獲委任的主席,或根據附表1第1(5)獲委任暫代
主席職位的人;
