Visit of Foreign Affairs Committee to Hong Kong (16- 19 October 1993)

We have drawn up a draft outline programme in the light of

the FAC'S requirements. A copy of the draft programme is at Annex Ä. Please note the following

points :

a)

We have

b)

attempted

to accommodate all the

people whom the FAC would like to meet in the programme. Owing to the short duration of FAC's stay in Hong Kong, the programme is rather tight. The reason why we have not been more selective in drawing up the programme is that

do not want to be seen as controlling who the FAC Will or will not meet. If the FAC SO wish, they can prune the programme to make it more manageable. Please also note that the timing of individual sessions included in the draft programme is no more than indicative and is likely to be subject to changes: we have not yet approached any of the persons whom the FAC would like to meet.
