What will happen to applicants who miss the deadline?
· All late applications for BN (0) passports will initially be examined by the Director of Immigration who will consider whether there are valid grounds for accepting them. Applications which he rejects will then be sent to an Appeal Panel which is being set up to advise the Governor.
The make up
of the Panel is under discussion the Governor has invited
LegCo to nominate a proportion of the members. The Governor will have the final decision on all cases which the Director of Immigration does not accept.

How many BN(0) passports have been issued so far?
- As at October 1993, 761,012 applications have been received for BN (O) passports.
