1. Since my minute of 3 February, the Minister has had an opportunity for a brief discussion with the FAC Chairman. Mr Goodlad concluded on the basis of this that there was no pressure from Committee Members for an early visit to Hong Kong.
2. The way is therefore open to propose an autumn visit to the FAC Clerk as recommended in Ms Saunder's submission of 2 February. Based on Mr Eyre-Wilson's minute of 3 February to you, we will probably find ourselves pushing at an open door.
