FOREIGN AFFAIRS COMMITTEE (FAC) INQUIRY: HONG KONG
1.
The Clerk to the FAC has reported that members would value an opportunity to have an evidence session with Mr Goodlad, before the summer recess, as part of its preparation for the forthcoming inquiry into Hong Kong. The FAC have yet to focus fully on this issue and terms of reference have still to be proposed. At this stage the Clerk simply wishes to agree a mutually acceptable date and has suggested 14 July. She has also explained that the Committee will attach a great deal of importance to this session, and would want to be sure of having the Minister for a good two hours.
2. I understand from the diary secretary that it might be possible to fit in a two hour session between 1030 and 1230 on Wednesday 14 July. I should be grateful to know whether I may offer this to the Clerk.
