This Office is already in touch with the CPA uffice here about their visit report. I am seeing the leader of the delegation, Sir Anthony Durant, on 16 September to discuss the findings of the visit as they relate to Hong Kong. I will let you have his impressions shortly thereafter.
For your information, we briefed Sir Nicholas Bonsor yesterday and will be briefing Messrs. Kynoch and Garnier shortly in preparation for their visits in October. We are debriefing Messrs. Luff and Hoyle following their recent visits and will let you have their impressions if there is anything of note.
In this connection, please see item 2(a) in the SOM minutes of 2 September.
Meeting in November between the Governor and the August CPA Delegation
The programme for the November visit is now looking very tight indeed and it would have been preferable to have subsumed the August CPA delegation within the larger BHKPG meeting which we hope the Governor will have time to address (paragraph 2(a) of Carlson's fax of 2 September refers). However, it would be discourteous to
