I should be grateful for your help, and that of copy
recipients, in compiling a list of the business likely to come forward from your Department to the Cabinet, Cabinet Ministerial Committees or Ministerial Groups on defence and overseas policy matters (other than European Community business) in the period from the beginning of October until Christmas.

It would be helpful if your forecast could indicate:
1
the subject;
the month in which it is likely to come forward;
the Ministerial Committee, Sub-Committee or Group involved;
the degree of certainty attaching to the business; and, where appropriate, the factors upon which it depends;
whether the business could be cleared in correspondence rather than at a meeting.
I should be grateful if returns could be sent to David Gould here by 3 September.
