RE
In his minute of 10 September the PUS asked me to see Sir Percy Cradock
2. After consultation with Sir Timothy Daunt I rang Sir Percy today. He is not available this week because he is going abroad. I shall be away next week with the Prime Minister in Japan and Malaysia. The earliest, therefore, that I can Sir Percy is 27 September. I have arranged for him to call on me at noon on that day. It is a pity to have to delay action but I see no alternative. I have informed Sir Robin Butler.
3.
Meanwhile the papers will be kept in my locked cupboard while I am away. If they are needed my secretary can retrieve
them.
