refers to "officers designated in
6 (2)
of the Public Service Commission Ordinance" (Cap. 93). Paragraph section 6(2) specifies "any judicial which by definition includes all the judicial offices. The effect of keeping the reference to 6(2)(b) is that CR 65 will say that except in relation to judicial officers the Governor shall not apply CRS 56, 57, 58 without consulting the Public Service Commission. Under our proposed amendment to
54 (6) no judicial officer will come under the CRS. Keeping the reference to judicial officers in CR 65 is therefore needlessly confusing.
I should be grateful for your response to these two points.
I share your view that the Letters Patent and Royal Instructions will need to be reprinted to bring them up to date. However, our Attorney General's Chambers have advised that the Letters Patent and the Royal Instructions will be among the last items
be printed in our new Loose-leaf Edition of the Laws, sometime later next year. In the meantime, I have been given a print-out from the compute database of the Attorney General's Chambers. It includes all amendments in force as of 25 June 1993. While it is not official, it should prove convenient
