Thank you for your letter of 23 November.
In my letter of 19 November to Mr Cartland, I undertook to provide the Association, in advance of its AGM on 6 December, with an explanation of the SPOS amendment and either copies of the proposed compensation and a sterling safeguard schemes or a description of the principal features of these schemes.
As we have not yet finalised all the technical details of the schemes, I enclose a description of the principal features of the schemes, and a note on the SPOS amendment. You may wish to circulate this to your members either before or at the Association's AGM.
I would be grateful if members of the Association would reserve their comments until after they have had sight of the schemes themselves. At that stage, I hope they will pass their comments to you so that the Committee can provide us with a consolidated set of comments in advance of the consultations. As regards the timing for the consultations, I note that your preference is for the week commencing 24 January. My officials will be in touch with you shortly to agree a mutually convenient date.
