Dear Mi fachham,
HONG KONG HMOCS OFFICERS: HOME CIVIL SERVICE OPPORTUNITIES
1.
You wrote to Mrs Smith in our Personnel Policy Department on 11 May this year, advising her that the age and qualification concessions for HMOCS officers in Civil Service run recruitment schemes had been abolished in 1982 and 1985 respectively. I subsequently relayed this information to the Hong Kong Government.
2. The Hong Kong Government have now written back asking whether a scheme still exists under which outside applicants aged between 35 and 51 with appropriate experience may apply to join the Home Civil Service direct at Principal level. They think that this scheme is mainly designed to attract mid-career applicants from outside the Civil Service, but that an HMOCS officer who was qualified could apply.
3. I would be very grateful for any advice which you can give me on such a scheme, if it does exist and details of how Hong Kong HMOCS officers could apply if they are eligible.
