Hong Kong pension, follow the rules set out in Head C above, substituting for paragraph (b) the following paragraph:

(b) Convert the sum obtained in Hong Kong dollars at paragraph (a) into sterling at the following rate of exchange:

(i) the rate of exchange on the date on which this Scheme comes into operation; or

(ii) the rate of exchange on his last date of

service before his retirement,

whichever produces the greater amount in sterling.

E: Members of HMOCS ("officers") who retire before or after the coming into operation of this Scheme from other public service in Hong Kong who, on retirement are awarded a pension under a relevant law in respect of their service in Hong Kong

To calculate the sterling value of the officer's notional Hong Kong pension, follow the rules in Head A above.

F: Spouses and children who, being dependants ("dependants") of members of HMOCS ("officers") who die in service or have been granted a pension in respect of their service in Hong Kong, have been, or are, themselves granted a pension under a relevant law

In paragraph (e) of this Head, "the commencement date"

means:

in the case of a dependant of an officer to whom Head A, B or E applies, the 8th April 1991 or the day following the death of the officer, whichever is the later;

- in any other case, the day following the death of the officer.
