E: Members of HMOCS ("officers") who retire before or after the coming into operation of this Scheme from other public service in Hong Kong who, on retirement are awarded a pension under a relevant law in respect of their service in Hong Kong
To calculate the sterling value of the officer's notional pension, follow the rules in Head A.
F: Spouses and children who, being dependants
("dependants") of members of HMOCS ("officers") who die in the service of the Government of Hong Kong or have been granted a pension in respect of their service in Hong Kong. have been, or are. themseves granted a pension under a
relevant law
To calculate the sterling value of a dependant's notional Hong Kong pension:
(a) Determine the officer's pension as awarded in accordance with the relevant law or, if the officer commuted any part of his pension, the pension which would have been so awarded if he had not commuted any part of his pension. In the case of an officer who died in the service of Hong Kong, determine the unreduced pension which would have been granted if he had retired on the date of his death. This produces the officer's root pension for the purposes of this calculation as denominated in Hong Kong dollars.
(b) Identify the pension granted to the dependant in accordance with the relevant law. This produces the dependant's root pension for the purposes of
