Government of the Special Administrative Region on the abolition of his office, for the purpose of facilitating improvements in the organisation of the department in which he was serving by which greater efficiency or economy may be effected, or on medical grounds not involving his own misconduct, will be entitled to receive as soon as possible after his retirement:
(a) the balance of compensation due to him, if any; and; (b) if he remained on the permanent and pensionable establishment of the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region until he was so required to retire, interest at the rate of 5 per cent per annum on the balance up to the date of retirement.
ENTITLED OFFICERS WHO ATTAIN NORMAL RETIREMENT AGE
10. When an entitled officer reaches his normal retirement age, he shall be entitled to receive forthwith:
(a) the balance of the compensation due to him, if any; and; (b) if he remained on the permanent and pensionable establishment of the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region until he attached such age, interest at the rate of 5 per cent per annum on the balance up to the date he attained that age.
DEATH
11. Where an entitled officer dies while serving the Government of the Special Administrative Region, his dependents or personal representatives will be entitled to receive as soon as possible:
(a) the balance of any compensation due, if any, to the entitled officer; and;
(b) if the officer died while on the permanent and pensionable establishment of the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, interest at the rate of 5 per cent per annum on the balance up to the time of death.
PLACE OF PAYMENT AND RATE OF EXCHANGE
12. Any payment under this Scheme to an entitled officer or to his dependants or personal representatives will be paid, in accordance with any request made from time to time by the officer or his dependants or personal representatives, as the case may be, in any of the following places:
(a) in the United Kingdom;
(b) in Hong Kong;
(c) in the country from which the officer was recruited or where he intends to reside;
(d) in the case of payment to the dependants or personal
