Sir,
On behalf of the Security Council Committes established by resolution 661 (1990) concaming the situation between Iraq and Kuwait, I have the honour to acknowledge receipt of your letter dated 13 May 1993 concerning the intended shipment to Iraq of 14,400 pieces of 4a fivorescent fixtures and 7,800 pieces of 2° fluorescent fixtures. For security and inspection purposes, 3 copy of your communication is attached hereto.
I have the honour to inform you that, in accordance with the Committee's decision taken on 22 March 1991 (document 5/22400), the members of the Committee have no objection to the sanding of the specified items which fall within the category of materials and supplies for essential civilian needs referred to in paragraph 20 of Security Couneli rasolution 687 (1991).
