HONG KONG STEERING COMMITTEE
TERMS OF REFERENCE
The Hong Kong Steering Committee will:
a.
Oversee the planning of the withdrawal of the Hong Kong
Garrison in accordance with CDS 7/87, by
b.
(1) coordinating studies into all aspects of the
withdrawal of British Forces in Hong Kong.
(2) providing guidance for the detailed planning for
the rundown, taking fuil account of all relevant factors
including political considerations and local sensitivit-
ies in Hong Kong.
(3) conducting biennial reviews of CDS 7/87 starting in
1989.
(4)
providing the forum for resolving policy issues
remitted to it in the course of detailed planning.
Meet at intervals not exceeding six months or when the
occasion demands.
