Air forces will support all deployments and provide airborne surveillance, reconnaissance and liaison. CBF's Main Effort initially will be the reception and integration of reinforcements.

Royal Navy Mission.

(1)

Maintain the sovereignty of the Territorial Waters of Hong Kong.

(2) Operate in support of the Marine Police to maintain law and order at sea.

(3) Provide support to the Garrison and HKG as required.

In order to demonstrate HMG's sovereignty over Hong Kong.

b.

Infantry Battalion Group Mission.

(1) Maintain the security of the Garrison estate and allocated KPs.

(2)

Receive reinforcements arriving in the

Territory.

(3) Protect Service dependants and other entitled

personnel.

(4) Be prepared, after reinforcement, to deploy to the Sino-Hong Kong border to demonstrate HMG's sovereignty over Hong Kong or to undertake anti- illegal immigration operations.

In order to create and maintain the conditions to enable appropriate reinforcement of BFHK.

c.

Royal Air Force Mission.

(1) Provide an operational helicopter lift of one platoon in support of the Army and, if required, the

RHKP.

(2) Assist in the surveillance of the Territorial boundaries of Hong Kong.

In order to support the restoration of law and order in Hong Kong.
