A FASTER RUN-DOWN PROGRAMME
1. Minister (AF) has seen the minute from Sec(0)(C) (6/7 dated 2 April 1993) covering an outline assessment of the political, military and financial consequences of a more rapid reduction of the Hong Kong Garrison.
2. The Minister has not been swayed by these arguments and would be grateful for an opportunity to discuss this matter further with the Secretary of State.
